Storage Tips
  • Make an itemized inventory list of each item.
  • When stacking boxes - stack the glassware and fragile items boxed on top.
  • Label you boxes clearly by the type of room. Example: Kitchen, Bath, Master
  • Bedroom. If you have a total of 50 boxes – Label each box accordingly such as 1/50, 2/50 & 3/50
  • If you plan to retrieve some items you will want to place these items in front of the door that opens your unit.
  • Be sure any fragile items are protected before placing them on the concrete floor.
  • Wrap any glass tops or shelving in paper pads – be sure these are not set on the bare concrete floor.
  • Do not store any combustible or flammable items such as aerosol cans, BBQ gas tanks, gas cans etc…
  • Be sure to utilize all space – tools can be stored in a large trash bin. Stash items inside other items. Line your empty clothes hamper with a plastic liner and put items inside.
  • Fill you suitcase and dresser drawers.
  • If necessary remove furniture legs to reduce space.
  • Upholstered furniture can be shrink wrapped for protection – PSL Movers offers this service and many others.
  • Be sure you and your moving company has paper pads, cardboard or some other form of protection when stacking furniture – this will prevent scratches or indentations from happening.
  • Cover your mattress and the box spring with plastic covers – PSL Movers provides this service and many others.
